I'm going to resume work on the 1st of Jan 2007... they say whatever you do on 1st of Jan, you end up doing that for the whole year... so yes... thats what i wanna do for the entire year - WORK!!! coz i have been on 4 months sick leave begining Sep-06. It's nice to be on such a long leave but definitely not when you're sick!!! Started with some joint pains and i thought i had arthritis and the doctor asked me have a series of tests and then he said i have osteoporosis. He left me wondering if arthritis was a better evil of the two... took his (very expensive) medicines for a month but no relief... the pain only got worse and i couldnt even stand on my own!!! so i went to a rheumatologist and he said i have a skin problem and should consult a dermatologist and off we went to the best skin doc in town who said i have Erythema Nodosm on my legs. He prescribed Indomethacin (Indicin 25mg 3 times a day) and i would religiously have the extremely strong anti-inflammtory (as i found out later...) for more than a month...
This medicine and the dosage prescribed turned out to be an over-dose and couple of days before diwali i was admitted in the hospital (read that ICU) as an emergency case. After keeping me under observation for half a day i was moved to the ward and given saline & glucose. What had happend the previous day (and night) was that i passed excessive blood (from the rectum) 3 times in the day and twice in the night; fainted a couple of times and also vomited everything i had eaten in the day. It was so scary and in the 5th episode i was lying in a pool of blood... i was too weak to think or get scared but my parents were shocked!

Now back in the hosp - the doctors had to figure out where the blood was coming from and why. so for the next 2 days of my admission i underwent some horrifying tests until they 'discovered' that it was the small intestine that was bleeding profusely. .jpg)

And i got discharged on the 3rd day... buttttt then.... my Haemoglobin (Hb) dropped from 12 to 4.4 and after a week i was back in the hospital :( it was blood transfusion this time (3 units) coz i had apparently bled about 2 liters in that 1 day!
i dont know what i went thru that 1 month of October-06 but it was something that still sends a chill down my spine.
Then i was asked to be at home and rest and eat bland but nutritious food and finally NOW i'm absolutely fine... :)
thanks to my mum's nursing and cooking (and prayers too) that has brought me back on track.
God Bless Her!
